Prime Minister Narendra Modi today has extended the nationwide lockdown till May 3, 2020. While addressing the nation at 10 AM in the morning today, PM Modi also added that in some areas where no COVID-19 cases would be reported, relief could be granted to them after April 20, 2020. As the nationwide lockdown has been extended, Indian Railways has also suspended all its passenger train services till May 3, 2020. Earlier, railways had announced the suspension of passenger train services from March 22 midnight to April 14 but now all the passenger train services have been shut until May 3, 2020. For those tickets where the journey date is till 3rd May, passengers do not need to cancel the ticket. The tickets will be automatically cancelled and full refund will be given.

State governments of Punjab, Odisha, Telangana and Tamil Nadu have already extended the lockdown. As per the latest data released by the Union Ministry of Health, the total coronavirus cases in India has crossed 10000-mark with current numbers at 10455 out of which 8896 are active cases, 1198 have cured. Till now 361 people have died in India due to the deadly COVID-19 virus. Yesterday, India recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases 1243.   1. Take care of elders at your home especially the ones who are already infected with some other disease. Take special care of such people and prevent them from getting infected with Corona.

  2. Practise social distancing and do not step out of your homes until May 3, 2020. Always cover your face with a face cover or face mask. You can also use homemade masks and face covers to prevent yourself from getting infected with COVID-19.

  3. To improve your immunity, follow the directions of Ayush mantralay like drink warm water, consume home-made kadha. Following such steps would boost your immunity and prevent us from getting infected with Coronavirus.

  4. Download Aarogya setu mobile app to know the risks, best practices and relevant advisories to contain the spread of COVID-19. Download this app and encourage others as well to do the same.

  5. Help the poor and needy people. Help the poor as much as you can. Provide them with free food, money and other essential commodities.

  6. Show sympathy to your employees and labours. Don't retrench their salary and don't fire them from their jobs.

  7. Pay tribute to our current heroes who are working incessantly to fight against coronavirus like doctors, nurses, cleaners and policemen. Respect them and support them in doing their job.

In addition to this, relaxation would be given to the daily wage labourers after 20 April. The government is helping the daily wage workers via several schemes such as PM Garib Kalyan Yojna. Both state and central governments are trying to formulate policies so that farmers do not face hardships.
