1.Money Heist: Things you should know about the Netflix series
In case you are a Money Heist fan, here are ten things about the Spanish series that you must know.
Money Heist is a crime drama on Netflix - originally called La Casa de Papel. Money Heist season 3 has just been released by the streaming service. The plot reads: "Eight thieves take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as a criminal mastermind manipulates the police to carry out his plan."

2.‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ is long but worth a watch

Directed by:  Mayank
Sharma
Starring: Abhishek
Bachchan, Nithya Menen, Amit Sadh;

Breathe: Into the Shadows, created by Mayank Sharma, is a follow-up to the 2018 series ‘Breathe’, which was Amazon Prime Video’s second Indian original series after ‘Inside Edge’. The psychological thriller series marks Abhishek Bachchan’s digital debut (now credited as Abhishek A. Bachchan). In the series, Bachchan plays a psychiatrist named Dr. Avinash Sabharwal whose 6-year old girl named Siya (Ivana Kaur) gets kidnapped by a mysterious masked man. In order to save his daughter, Dr. Sabharwal must agree to kill innocent people in cold blood.

Over the years, films and series have been known to glorify murders as well as the brutal designs that the killers employ. Breathe: Into the Shadow too depicts some horrific ways to kill people. The cruelty involved in these designs can transcend imagination. It’s heinous. It’s insane. And, yet, it achieves the desired result—to unsettle the viewer beyond measure. While one of the designs results in a quick death, another one makes death look like slow torture, something that Alfred Hitchcock specialized in. Perhaps, the latter is best demonstrated in Hitchcock’s penultimate film titled Frenzy which features a serial murderer who strangles women to death with a necktie.

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video
Anushka Sharma’s debut production venture. Paatal Lok is the talk of the town these days. With an intriguing storyline backed by powerful performances, the show is a must-watch if you are a fan of crime thrillers. Hathiram Chaudhary (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) gets the biggest case of his life when an assassination attempt is carried out on celebrated journalist Sanjeev Mehra (Neeraj Kabi). While Hathiram is determined to get to the bottom of the case, not everybody is happy with his dedication. The show also stars Gul Panag, Abhishek Banerjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh and Rajesh Sharma, among others.

4. 'Biohackers' play god in German Netflix series'
The newly launched series Biohackers is not about a pandemic, but scenes like the one described above gave Netflix and the production team pause. Instead of releasing the six-part series at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in late April as originally planned, they pushed the date to August 20.
"We didn't want to fuel fear or encourage conspiracy theories so we moved the release to a later date, hoping that people would know more about the disease and could better distinguish between fact and fiction," said director Christian Ditter, who previously directed the US Netflix series Girlboss.
Making God 'obsolete'
As people worldwide struggle with the coronavirus crisis, the Netflix series provides food for thought: "What happens when regular folks are confronted with things that are bigger than they are?" said Ditter, who also wrote the script.
Scientists accompanied the filming
Doctors and scientists advised the series' producers and the actors. "The more dramatic a situation was, the more sober and objective the scientists' reaction," said Ditter, whose wife is a doctor. "It was important to me to show that."

5.  State of Siege 26/11 first impression: A stirring visual account of 2008 Mumbai attacks
Starting before the dawn of November 26, Stage of Siege 26/11 covers the three days of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The narrative switches back and forth to show how the terrorists conducted the attack and how the security forces prepared to fight them.
The footage of smoke billowing from the Hotel Taj during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks is etched in many people’s memory. Since then, several documentaries have shed light on the 26/11 attacks offering perspectives from the security forces and people who were basically in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, once again a sense of rage and distress engulfed me as I watched the first two episodes of Stage of Siege 26/11, the latest offering from ZEE5.
Starting before the dawn of November 26, Stage of Siege 26/11 covers the three days of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The narrative switches back and forth to show how the terrorists conducted the attack and how the security forces prepared to fight them. It really does capture what it feels like to have gun-wielding men walking towards you and watching dead bodies lying around you.

“Whether we make it or not, we can’t let that Thing freeze again. Maybe we’ll just warm things up a little around here. We’re not gettin’ outta here alive.” This last line from John Carpenter’s body horror masterpiece can very well be put in the context of Covid-19. A group of scientists on a remote base in Antarctica encounter a “thing” that can mutate into the body of its host. What follows is one of the smartest and most suspenseful horror movies of all time. Full of grotesque, inhumane and practical effects of the highest quality, this film, despite being made 40 years ago, will never get old. Accompanied by Erico Moriccone’s haunting score, the suspense of who is who or in this case ‘what’, will leave you terrified of the unknown.

8.  Avrodh The Siege Within review: An interesting web series on 2016 surgical strike
Avrodh is a retelling, sans any jingoistic and provocative dialogues or scenes, of how the government and armed forces worked tirelessly to avenge the killing of 19 soldiers at an Army base camp in Uri.

In the National Award-winning Uri: The Surgical Strike, we saw the historic surgical strikes through the eyes of Major Vihaan Shergill (Vicky Kaushal), who not only does his duty but also avenges his family’s tragedy when he goes on the anti-terror mission. The film was a celebration of the valour and ‘josh’ of the Indian Army, and a ‘new India’.

9. Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega review | An engaging beginning with a tapering tail

A bunch of teens from a remote village are talking over the phone with people in cities like Delhi. One chap, pretending to be a bank officer, tells a woman that her debit card has been blocked but he can help her fix it. In another call, a guy tells the person on the other end that he has won a gift voucher. We are shown bits of many such conversations which mostly end with these minors managing to get the card details of their respective victims. Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega, the new Indian Netflix Original, directed by National Award-winning director Soumendra Padhi, is about phishing scams that have started to plague the country. A disclaimer says that this show is inspired by real events that happened in Jamtara, a small village in Jharkhand.

10.  Khuda Haafiz : A thin but watchable action   thriller

In 2008, as now, the global economy crashed. Millions of lives were ripped apart. The shockwaves reached India, with its blooming IT industry taking a hit. It was a moment of deep collective horror, echoes of which are again felt today in the din of the pandemic.
All of this has little bearing on the knockabout pleasures of Khuda Haafiz. The film, starring Vidyut Jammwal and out on Disney+ Hotstar, follows a Lucknow couple imperilled by the global financial crisis. It's as good a starting point as any, since the focus here is the frantic search of a husband for his missing wife. Yet, releasing at this hour of uncertainty and fear, the romantic thriller carries a speck of truth.
